During the build up into dday at 1944, the British found their island hosting many thousands of American soldiers that have been"oversexed, overpaid, and over here". That is Charlie Madison exactly. He understands all of the angles to create life as you can for himself and secure as eloquent. But things become complicated when he falls for an English woman, along with the nervous breakdown of his commanding officer contributes to Charlie being sent to some dangerous and senseless assignment.
